The process of lego building

The scope of this project was to video the process of someone building legos in this case i used Katy. We had to come up with a script and do a voice over which then was added to our video. The process of making tho video was much like my last video but i had time to prepare in order to think of what i was going to film. After we filmed the making of the legos we had to film our voice overs. We had to put our voiceovers into our film and make our J and L edits. When we got done editing we had to put our videos into you tube. Which was basically the end of making the video. Along the way i learned that when you film you only have one chance so you have to get the perfect film the first time around in order for your film to be good. If i did a project like this again i think i would plan my shots out and ask more questions to make the video flow better. Some thing i would keep the same though is some of the shots looked very neat which made the film look a lot cooler. Overall i think this film was  hard but fun at the same time.

Wonders of the blood drive

The scope of this project was to create an overview of the blood drive that Olathe Northwest High School held. I had to interview a couple of people and take some extra shots in order for it to flow well. The process i took for this film was to go out and film my project first. After I filmed my project i had to make a script that i later did a voice over to. I put my voice over into my film and edited it all. When i was editing i found that it was hard to make the J and L cuts. You had to match up the words with their lip movement. Something learned was that you should have a clear idea of what you are doing before you start filming. The reason i would have a clear idea beforehand is because you will have a lot easier time with editing which makes life easier. I liked how i did the voice overs because it flows well with the clip. Something i would take with me is the way i did my voice overs and they was i filmed people. Overall i thought this project was a little confusing but in the end it all turned out pretty well.

Different style of blogging

The scope of my project was to condense the original 3 minute video to 90 seconds. Although the project was hard to do it turned out better than my first one. I made the color look better and at the beginning of the film i changed the wording to make it look like more of a music video. The process of making this video was difficult but fun. We had to film every clip which took quite a while because the initial video had to be the whole song. After we filmed and re filmed i had to edit the video to make it come alive. I used Final Cut Pro to edit and produce my video. Something that i learned throughout the process was to be patient and understand what needed to be accomplished. I also figured out that the end result can look pretty cool. But something i would do differently is learning how to edit it differently and make it flow nicer. But something i would do the same if get cool shots and unique places to film. Overall i think my second video turned out better than the first. It flows better and the length seems more fit.

Hammer

In this project i created a hammer and a nail. We had to extrude and switch faces. We also added textures to make it look more like a hammer. In the rendering process we had to put lights in order to see the actual object. I used a spotlight in order to see the whole object. In this project i learned that when extruding parts of objects they can go the total opposite ways that you wanted. I also thought that putting the texture onto the object was kind of difficult to do. Something i would do differently is the nail point because it makes a weird angle at the bottom. Overall i thought this project was fun because the idea and ending result looked really cool.

Polything

The idea of my project was to figure out how to put in lighting in the program maya. The extrude tool helped me make the hole is my polishing.  I used the bevel tool to help make the roundness of the polything. There is multiple types of lighting and we used back lighting spot light and directional light. I did not have to think of the idea of this because we were just learning about lighting and the idea of the polything was made for us. I learned that putting the lights in certain spots can go a long way and if you do not have the light in the right spot then your object can look very weird. I wouldn't change anything about this project because i thought it was a cool idea to teach us lighting. Overall i think this project helped me with the concept of lighting and learned what the lighting was used for.

Character Animation

In creating my character animation i had to create my own character and put it into a scene and after all of that i had to make the scene come to life. The first thing that i had to do was create my character and create a story board. The story board changed multiple times in order for the story to flow well. The idea of my story was for a boy to be selling balloons and in the process of putting the balloons onto the cart they start to carry him up into the sky. He has a needle so he pops the balloon and falls back down safely to the ground. When i had to edit my animation i had to combine scenes and take out parts and it made the process more difficult. I learned that making multiple compositons made the process a lot easier because you just drag the compostion down and it will play with your previous clip. I also learned that if you ask questions you will understand what you are working with a lot easier. Something i would do differently is taking more time on making the scenes and the animations because if you put more time into the beginning the end will turn out better. But something i would do the same is keep the story line the same because i thought it was a cool idea. Overall i enjoyed making this animation and mostly liked how it turned out.

Shake it off 90 seconds

In this video i had to shorten it from my original to 90 seconds. I had to shorten all my clips and even take some of them out. I color corrected the first scene and tried to take out the blue. I also color corrected the scene when Elijah and i ran into each other because it was very yellow so i cut most of the yellow out. I rearranged some of the clips in the acting scene to make it flow a lot better. When i put the markers in it was difficult to fin a beat but after a couple times of hearing it i got them to match up pretty good. I didn't see much of a difference when i put the markers into the file but i realized i knew the beat and could hear the beat a lot better i think that was just from listening to it many times but i could understand the flow a lot better.

Shake it off Music Video

-
Our music video is about a girl that is popular and is good at everything she does. On the other hand this boy is not popular and wants to be just like the girl so he follows her around and does the things she does. In the end the end up running into each other and talking. In the end we incorporate random spurts of dancing acting as a victory for the boy.

-The first thing we did with this video was decide what music we wanted. We knew we wanted something funny so would could add fun things into the music video for example Elijah in the trunk of my car was something we threw into the video to make it funny. We had to decide who would be acting in the film and we had to create a large storyboard to fit in all of the scenes. Once we decided that it was a long process of filming and gathering people for the film. After we got all of the filming done we had to edit the film. From there on we were on our own. In the end in think it came together looking really good and very funny.
-I think my group worked fairly well with one another because we got the video done in time and we also decided on how the film was going to work easily.

Plausible Impossible

Plausible- This is plausible because reality you cannot actually go through a mirror. But you can touch it. The mirror does not also stretch in real life.
Impossible- Mickey touches the mirror and discovers it is stretchy. He then goes into the mirror and comes out on the other side.

Plausible- This is plausible because mickey can jump on the chair but the chair would not react to him jumping on it. The chair will also not be alive in real life.
Impossible- This is impossible because a chair cannot be alive. It cannot also react the something sitting on it. Lastly a chair cannot have emotions.

Plausible- This is plausible because a nutcracker is actually supposed to crack a nut. But when a nutcracker cracks a nut it does not do it by itself and it does not then eat the nut.
Impossible- This is impossible because a nutcracker is not alive. They do not also crack a nut by themselves and then after eat the nut.

Plausible- This is plausible because the room can stay the same size but mickey is in no way plausible. His stomach and feet get very large.
Impossible- This is impossible because mickey cannot grow in size. He cannot also shrink down in size which he does after he gets larger.

Plausible- This is plausible because when you shuffle cards that is what they truley look like. The way the cards have the hearts and spades on them are also correct.
Impossible- This is impossible because cards are not alive. Mickey is also not able to bend and slim down into the size of a card. They cannot walk and shuffle themselves.

Mulitplane Animation

The Three Things i would have taken away from this was to make sure i got all of the white out of my film. To make the lines simpler and have no rugged edges. And lastly i think i should have put more of  my own drawings to make it more of my own.

The Chase

What did i learn? One of the first things i have learned is you have to keep your camera steady or your video will not look right. Another thing i learned is that i should remind the actors to wear the same clothes so the video looks consistent throughout.

What will i apply to my next project? I will keep the camera steady so the shot is not shaky. i will also concentrate on keeping consistency on my video.

How was Collaboration different? I think it was different first because i was working with two different people and the last two projects i only worked with 1 person.

How could we improve collaboration in the next film? I think we could focus more on the film other than focusing on having fun because our grade is what really matters in the end. We should also focus on the shots more to make sure we get the required shots.

Character Animation Finalized

Critique:
Two things the class said about my animation was my legs moved down but the rest of my body didn't, the other thing was i need to move my character up so it would walk behind the grass not over it. A positive thing they said about my animation was it walked smoothly across the screen.

Character Animation

What are 3 things i learned from making the character walk? I learned that if you want it to look like  a human walking then you need to use puppet pins to move and bend the legs. I  also learned that with keyframes you need to stagger them so the legs don't look like they are floating in mid air. lastly i learned that you need 3 keyframes in order to make the leg look "human".
What was one issue you had while trying to make you character walk? I had an issue with the legs walking together because they looked like they walked over one another.
If you could redo it would you change anything? I would change the way i drew the character because it looks rough and sketchy. I would also change the way it is colored in.
How do you feel about your work/animation? I feel like i did okay i could have definitly done better.

What is My character? My character is based on the movies box trolls. It is a boy who has a boy body but for his shirt he wears a box over his body.
What was my thought behind the character? I was trying to think of something unique to draw and thought of the movie.

Did you run into any troubles when making the character? I am not a good drawer so it was hard to make multiple parts in order for them to move properly.
Did you have any issues with the keyframe? I used help with Mr. Netterville so no i had no problems with the keyframes.
How did you create the keyframes? I first put puppet pins on my legs. After i arranged them i made them move by putting position down. Then i added to more keyframe that make it walk in a human like motion.

Acting Video

What i learned: I learned that the iris lens is very important to use in dark lighting and i need to focus my lens to have better quality with my shots.
What i will apply to my next project: I will do the iris lense and focus on my shots more in my next project.
Collaboration: It is the action of working well with others. I think Brooke and i worked well together because we got done on time and we both got along really nicely.

Inchworm Animation

In this animation i made a worm move up and down across the screen. I learned about the null object which helped my worm move across the screen. I also think i need to work on the way i moved my worm up and down.

Trey- Running Video

This is my 6 shot sequence. This was my first video i have made this year. I like this video because i learned many things from it. I learned that you need to know how to fully use the camera before you take the video. I didn't like how we didn't have a lot of time to make the video. My favorite part was editing the video

Bouncing Ball Animation

This was the first animation i created. It bounces as it goes down and comes back up. I like this animation because i got to learn how to stretch the ball and learn how a ball really bounces. My favorite part of this project was making the ball bounce. Overall i think i could have done better with the way the ball bounces.
